  Rastero
Rastrero is a system to help to blind persons in the location of obstacles and the position of streets and transit signals.

The goal of this project is to design a support system for the movement of blind persons, which give more autonomy and security to blind persons when they go through the city.

Rastrero is a walking stick that integrates a radiofrequency system. The system allows the blind person to know his location and gives him reference to the streets and avenues. This is possible through a transmitting and a receiver of radiofrequency signals integrated in a Bluetooth circuit, which sent and receive the necessary information. Additionally Rastrero includes an aluminium guide for obstacle detection in short distances.

  Finding of the jury:
In this proposal there is a significant evolution in a traditional object, the walking stick, which has a risky use around the blind people. The product integrates an interface for the detection with more reach. This concept is an innovative re-design and facilitates daily life of blind persons. The design is functional and takes in account different use, ergonomic and functional aspects. This project approaches to a real solution.
